It’s that most wonderful time of year to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
One of the nice things about the long winter nights is that instead of working outside in the yard or garden till dark, I get to curl up at my favorite place on the couch with a hot cup of tea and read in the evenings! I love it when there are twinkly Christmas tree lights to make the evenings feel festive.
Another nice thing about December is all the cookie baking. I generally get some good, if interrupted, reading time in between batches. The warm oven and spicy aromas make for a cozy afternoon.
Sometimes when the house feels chilly and I’ve had a long day, I put on some warm jammies and go to bed really early just so I can snuggle in with my book. All I’d need is a flashlight, and it would be my childhood again!
What are your favorite bookish winter activities?
I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Very Good Book!

Very nice and Merry Christmas! If it can count – listening to an audio book while working with wood in the garage with the wood stove popping and emiting warmth! That’s one of my favorite bookish winter activities!
Yes of course, audio books count! I imagine you listen to quite a few good books while enjoying your woodworking.
As usual one of my bookish winter activities is an audiobook while doing some mindless (?) task. Currently I am painting indoor trim. Is that cheating? I mean painting and listening. My current novel just completed is “Before we were Yours” by Lisa Wingate. I think I will listen to more of her books in the future.
Being productive while listening to a good book sounds awesome. I have heard good things about “Before We Were Yours” and it is on my ‘to read’ list. Unfortunately that list grows ever longer!
